Flexsteel Inds. hosts training session for 52 retailers

Holds variety of workshops on design trends, selling techniques

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 30, 2009

BRANSON, Mo. — Flexsteel Inds. hosted a class of 52 retailers from 26 stores at the manufacturer's sixth Flexsteel University training session here in early June.

Attendees ranging from sales associates to store owners and rookies to seasoned veterans kicked off the event with a wine and cheese reception at the Wrangler Idea House at StoneBridge Village, Branson West.

Later, the group went through retail sales training by Cathey Manley of Cathey Manley & Associates and attended workshops on leather, fabric, display, trends, design and technical advice. Guest speakers included Ernie Rockhill of Leather Miracles and Dana Heath of MicroD.

Flexsteel's Retail Development team conducted other workshops.
The finale was a factory tour of Flexsteel's Harrison, Ark., production facility led by Mark Feldman and Diane Ditmanson.

Inquiries about future training events should be directed to Cara Price at Flexsteel.
