Las Vegas Market sets design events, speakers for September

Color, design trends among the topics

LAS VEGAS — Several seminars at September's Las Vegas Market will help marketgoers keep track of the latest in design trends, according to officials.

Design events and speakers set for the Sept. 14-17 market include:

• First Look: Las Vegas, with trend and new products editor Julie M. Smith, who will offer a definitive guide to new, noteworthy and exciting products and collections launching exclusively at the Las Vegas Market. Attendees will receive a copy of the First Look product trend tracker guide. Monday, Sept. 14, 8:30 a.m. in WorldView, Building B, 16th floor.

• Looking at Trends from the Inside Out, with Robin Waters, former vice president of trend, design and product development for Target. She will focus on what's important as well as what's next. Monday, Sept. 14, 10:30 a.m. in WorldForum, Building B, 16th floor.

• Ahead of the Curve, a live Webcast with designers Timothy Corrigan, Laura Kirar and Vicente Wolf, moderated by style guru, author and "Today" show contributor Susanna Salk. They will give their opinions on design, products and the needs of today's consumers. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 8 a.m., showroom C-332 or online via www.lasvegasmarket.com.

• Color Trends of Tomorrow. Which colors will help define architecture and design next year? Jackie Jordan, forecaster and director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams, will offer a look at upcoming color trends. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 10:30 a.m. in WorldForum, Building B, 16th floor. Reception follows in the Robert Allen/Beacon Hill showroom, C-101.

• Small Space, Big Style with interior designer HGTV expert commentator Libby Langdon, who will discuss designing in small spaces to and offering ways to court the small-space consumer. Monday, Sept. 14, 2 p.m. in WorldView, Building B, 16th floor.
