Bedding shipments down 14.7% in May, says ISPA
Average unit price declines 0.8% from year ago

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The dollar value of bedding shipments in May were down 14.7% from the same month last year as unit sales dropped by 14%, according to the International Sleep Products Assn.'s monthly Bedding Barometer report.May's average unit selling price was down by 0.8% from a year ago, ISPA said.
For the first five months of the year, dollar sales were down by 16.5%, with units off 14% and the average unit selling price down by a steep 2.9%.
The monthly reports represent a snapshot of industry performance. They are compiled from 18 bedding producers who collectively represent 45.5% of the industry's unit volume and 56.3% of the industry's dollar volume, according to ISPA.
