High Point — As it has done during past markets, US Airways will add an average of six daily flights and larger planes on routes to the Piedmont Triad International Airport here during the High Point market in October.
Flights will be added from New York's LaGuardia airport, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, the company said. From Philadelphia, the airline will switch from 50-seat regional jets to aircraft of 120 and 126 seats, which will add 218 daily seats to the route.
From Charlotte, N.C., US Airways will upgrade its nine daily flights to larger aircraft, adding 244 seats each way.
An airport spokeswoman said other airlines, including Delta and United, also add capacity during the market.
