Chinese face own challenges

It's been about nine months since the U.S. government imposed final duties on Chinese manufacturers of wood bedroom furniture. In late August, Furniture/Today Associate Editor Tom Russell traveled to China to survey the furniture industry and the business climate today in light of those duties. In this week's installment, which continues on page 18, he looks at some of the issues they face, such as increasing raw materials costs and the revaluation of the Chinese currency, the yuan.
