Swavelle/Mill Creek
New York — Al Hazen, veteran decorative fabrics executive, is retiring at Swavelle/Mill Creek after 57 years in the industry.
He joined Swavelle/Mill Creek in 1979 when it was a division of Piermont Mills, and developed the mini-print collection that CEO Jeff Thomases called "a powerful category for the company."
Recently, Hazen has handled such key accounts as J.C. Penney, Robert Allen, Carole Fabrics and Pindler & Pindler.
He began his career in 1948 with Golding, starting as a file clerk and moving quickly to salesman and designer.
He left Golding in 1963 and worked with a number of companies as designer and salesman, including Qual Fab, Richloom, Bloomcraft, A.W. Scheffres, Tilbury and Everfast.
Managers
GLM shows
White Plains, N.Y. — John Erich, Amy Kasper and Elizabeth Nystrom have been named managers for various George Little Management trade shows in the furniture and gift industries. They will be responsible for sales, marketing, management and operations of their respective shows.
Erich is now show manager of International Interiors New York. He joined GLM in 1998, and most recently was show manager of the GLM Temporaries at the Dallas International Gift & Home Accessories Market.
Kasper has become show manager for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York. She has been with GLM for six years, most recently as the divisional manager of At Home, LA Contemporary and Outdoor Elements at the California Gift Show.
Nystrom is now divisional manager for LA Contemporary at the California Gift Show. With the company since 1993, she will continue as divisional manager of EX-TRACTS at the gift show, and as show manager of the International New Age Trade Show East and West.
Erich and Kasper report to Phil Robinson, GLM senior vice president. Nystrom reports to Aubin Wilson, the California Gift Show director.
Sales/Marketing
Feizy Rugs
Dallas — Stacy Feraco has joined Feizy Rugs as regional sales manager, and will be responsible for the sales and servicing of Feizy' s home center customers.
A rug industry veteran, she comes to Feizy with experience in hand-knotted, hand-tufted and power-loomed rugs. During the past 10 years, Feraco has represented Oriental Weavers and TradeAm International.
Designers
Braemore Fabrics
New York — Veteran home furnishings designer Albert Sardelli has joined Braemore Fabrics, the upper-end decorative fabrics division of P. Kaufmann Inc., and will work with outside and in-house designers.
He most recently was vice president of design for Brunschwig et Fils. Earlier, Sardelli was design director of Covington Fabrics, Waverly, the former Wamsutta and Bibb home textiles mills.
He reports to Braemore President Bob Appelbaum.

W.S. Badcock
Mulberry, Fla. — Retailer W.S. Badcock received a Public Relations Society of America 2005 Silver Anvil Award for marketing tied to its centennial event and dealer recruitment.
The award, presented during a PRSA Silver Anvil celebration in New York, recognizes outstanding achievement in strategic public relations planning and implementation.
Badcock, a Top 100 store chain, won in one of 54 award categories, Special Events-Observances for events longer than seven days. Along with its outside public relations firm, Hill and Knowlton, Badcock was honored for its 2004 centennial promotion to consumers and for educating potential dealers about dealership opportunities.
