He replaces Brad Miller, who had held the post since January 2005 and recently left the company.
Cain most recently was vice president and product manager for the manufacturer. He joined Stanley in 1981 as a sales representative in Florida, then became part of the management team 1985 and held a variety of positions in international sales, sales management and product development.
Cain will oversee international sales and special markets, including managing the international sales team. He reports to Kevin Bowman, vice president of sales.
"With his experience in the field and his knowledge of the Stanley Furniture product, we are confident that Kelly will generate new sales opportunities for future growth," said Glenn Prillaman, executive vice president of marketing and sales.
The company has not named a replacement for Cain.
Adam Tilley will continue to oversee adult product lines as vice president of product management. Kevin Walker continues to oversee product development of Young America as vice president of product and sales management for the youth furniture division.
