NEW YORK — Leaders from the home furnishings industry were honored by the Anti-Defamation League at an awards dinner here in June that raised about $500,000 for the ADL.
Officials said they were pleased with the fundraising, given the state of the economy.
Honorees included Jeff Cook, president of Broyhill Furniture Inds., who received the American Heritage Award; Gordon Segal, founder of Northbrook, Ill.-based Crate and Barrel, who received the Lifetime Humanitarian Award; and Lester Gribetz, former vice chairman of Bloomingdale's, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The tribute, held at the Grand Hyatt NYC, is a key fundraiser for the ADL, which works to promote civil rights and democratic ideals and to battle bigotry.
