Fred D. Horton, Horton's Furniture
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Fred D. Horton, a retired furniture retailer who ran a store here for more than 35 years and was a past president of the Florida Furniture Dealers Assn., has died. He was 90.
A Navy veteran of World War II, Horton and his wife, the late Kathryn “Kay” Carney Wooldridge Horton, moved to St. Petersburg in the early 1950s. He opened Horton's Furniture here in 1955 and operated it for more than 35 years before closing it.
He was elected president of the Florida Furniture Dealers Assn. several times during his career. In addition, he served on a number of civic committees and boards and was a past president of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by two sons, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph Lee Craver, Lexington sales rep
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Ralph Lee Craver, a sales representative for Lexington Furniture Inds. for more than 40 years before his retirement, has died. He was 78.
He had been a member of the Florida Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. and the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. since 1964, and was named a life member of the Florida HFRA when he retired.
Survivors include his wife, four children and six grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or the Florida Oncology Patient Assistance Foundation.
