Bob's Discount Furniture, PFP to host charity event

FARMINGTON, Conn. — The Charitable Foundation of Bob's Discount Furniture, along with liquidator Planned Furniture Promotions, will host the 22nd Annual Bob's Golf Outing Aug. 4 at The Tunxis Plantation Country Club here.

A dinner reception will follow at the nearby Farmington Club.

All proceeds benefit local children's charities, including the American Cancer Society's Camp Rising Sun, Nutmeg Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Family & Children's Aid and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

Last year's tournament raised more than $340,000 for the organizations, according to PFP.

The event includes 18 holes of golf followed by lunch, dinner, silent and live auctions and an award presentation. To register or to make a donation, contact Charity Coordinator Kimberly Martin at (860) 474-1395 or go online to www.golfwithbob.com.
