Easyhome appoints Steve Goertz chief financial officer

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Rent-to-own specialist Easyhome has appointed Steve Goertz to the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective Aug. 16.Goertz replaces Chris Fregren, who is leaving the company.
"We greatly appreciate the dedication, hard work and imagination that Chris brought to Easyhome and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," said David Ingram, president and CEO.
Ingram added that Fregren was a key player in some of Easyhome's recent initiatives, including the rapid expansion of its national network, the launch of Easyfinancial and the development of a franchising program in the United States.
Goertz was formerly vice president of finance for Sobeys Ontario. He brings 20 years of experience in finance and accounting roles to Easyhome, from companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Natrel and Maple Leaf Foods.

As of June 30, Easyhome has 235 stores, including 209 Canadian corporate stores, 13 U.S. corporate stores, seven U.S. franchised stores, five Canadian franchised stores and one licensed Canadian store.
