Olmeda leaves Magnussen

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 27, 2005

Richard Olmeda has resigned as executive vice president at case goods and occasional importer Magnussen Home Furnishings.

Magnussen doesn't plan to fill Olmeda's position, which had concentrated on new business development and expansion into other categories.

Nathan Cressman, who added merchandising to his list of responsibilities when Olmeda was promoted in March, will continue to head the product design team as vice president of merchandising and international operations.

"I have considered taking a break for a while and perhaps pursuing other areas of interest to me," Olmeda said. "Now is the best time for me to part ways with the company. We have focused on building and training a talented team over the past several months. I am totally confident in turning over the reins to the team that I have helped develop so that Magnussen Home will continue to thrive."

Olmeda joined Magnussen Home in March 1999 as senior vice president of sales.

"Over the past six years Richard has been instrumental in our aggressive growth and we will miss him — we wish him the very best," said Jeff Cook, president and CEO.
