Lam Lee Group also moving IHFC showroom

HIGH POINT — Upholstery major Franklin is moving to a new showroom in the International Home Furnishings Center that is twice the size of its former space.
The 21,600-square-foot showroom, space W-748 in the IHFC's Wrenn wing, is across the hall from the showroom the company occupied for about 20 years, said Hassell Franklin, CEO.
He said the new space will be ready for the fall market, Oct. 17-22, and will allow the company to display its entire line of recliners, motion and stationary upholstery, and medical products.
Franklin said the showroom move is part of the company's effort to position itself for an economic recovery. The Houston, Miss.-based company also has made major capital investments in its factory while working to improve product quality and reduce costs, he said.
Also moving to a new IHFC space is Lam Lee Group, a resource for furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, textiles and gifts. The company, which had been on the second floor of the Hamilton wing, is moving to space D-410 of the Design Center.
"It will allow us to display our products as they should be," said John Reinhardt, vice president of sales, marketing and merchandising. "We have made the investment here and in our factory, because when the economy gets back on its feet, we want to be in full running mode."
