TUPELO, Miss. — World Imports opened its first Tupelo Furniture Market showroom this month with a ribbon cutting.

The company, which sells bedroom, dining room, occasional and accent furniture and upholstery, operates a 600,000-square-foot distribution center in Philadelphia. It also recently opened a Southern distribution center in Bruce, Miss., which is just southwest of Tupelo.

Jeff Wallner, vice president of World Imports, said at the market that the company got off to a strong start, seeing a number of accounts before the market's official opening on Aug. 14.

"Even better, these were not tire kickers - these people wrote orders," he said.
