Lenoir, N.C. — Full-line manufacturer and importer Broyhill Furniture has opened galleries in stores in Georgia and Maine.
In Cartersville, Ga., Nelson's Appliance & Furnishings has opened a new 72,000-square-foot store with 52,000 square feet of selling space, including a 10,000-square-foot Broyhill Home Furnishings Gallery.
Nelson's began in 1942 as City Tire and Auto Supply; it started selling furniture in the mid-1980s. Jimmy Nelson and Dolph Nelson Jr. bought the business from their father in 1982. They operate a second store in Rome, Ga.
In Gray, Maine, Gobeil's Furniture Galleries has opened a 7,500-square-foot Broyhill Home Furnishings Gallery in its 45,000-square-foot store in the Portland market.
President Ron Gobeil launched the business in the 1970s as Red Barn, and later Country Farm Furniture. The Gobeil name was adopted in the late 1990s.
Gobeil's debut of the gallery featured a grand opening sale, including several "live" TV commercials featuring Broyhill products.
