Chris Madden to add groups to Penney line
Carole Sloan -- Furniture Today, January 8, 2006
Plano, Texas — Five new furniture groups will join the lineup of the Chris Madden for JCPenney Home Collection in spring and summer.
The groups will be spread among the three Chris Madden lifestyles, called Adventurous, Serene and Romantic. Knowlton and Cardiff Manor fit in the Romantic lifestyle, Park Avenue and Vista in Serene, and Classic in Adventurous.
Two of the new groups will be offered in all three JCPenney channels — in stores, in the catalog and on the Internet — while three others will be in stores "as space allows," said Deb Evans, vice president, product development, home for the retailer.
In addition to the furniture additions, Evans said the collection will expand its offering of rugs, adding both new styles and larger sizes. Home décor will be expanded with wall and table clocks. New tabletop will debut in August.
Evans said the company is "extremely pleased" with the success of the Chris Madden product, launched in May 2004. She said the JCPenney Home Collection, including Madden line and other goods, would have fiscal 2005 sales of about $1.6 billion.
