Pedraz to lead WMC design

Las Vegas — The World Market Center has hired design industry veteran Victor Pedraz to lead the management and expansion of the facility's Design Center.
Pedraz, who has worked with U.S. and international manufacturers for more than 20 years, has the title Director of Design Center.
Since it opened in August, the Design Center has attracted designers, architects and specifiers to about 40 WMC showrooms containing hundreds of furniture, rug, lighting and accessory lines, which are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Before joining the WMC, Pedraz was president of Euroreps, a consultant to European and American furniture and home accents manufacturers.
Market officials expect the Design Center to grow as the WMC expands. Plans call for the complex to add buildings over the next seven years to grow to more than 12 million square feet. Pedraz will work with the WMC's Leasing Division to recruit domestic and international manufacturers to the Design Center floors in the complex's planned third building.
"We are very excited to have Victor join the team and believe he will be an asset to WMC because of his strong background and the key relationships he has with leading companies in the industry, both domestically and internationally," said Gerry Sawyer, WMC chief operating officer.
