Kornmeyer's to use CDS Solutions Retail 6 software
Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, January 15, 2006
Baton Rouge, La. — Midpriced to high-end retailer Kornmeyer's, a 125-year-old landmark here, has signed on with CDS Solutions Group to use Retail 6 software.
Recently launched after five years in development, Retail 6 provides what CDS describes as an easy-to-use, cost-effective retail management solution.
Kornmeyer's has a 60,000-square-foot showroom and a 37,000-square-foot distribution center and warehouse, which it is expanding by 30,000 square feet.
CDS said Retail 6 fit the retailers' current requirements and would position the store for growth over the coming decade.
"I believe Retail 6 will help us create additional efficiencies in our business which will help us be more successful," said Jacques Pourciau, marketing director and co-sales manager for Kornmeyer's.
"We're excited about a lot of the features," he continued. "We're excited that it's Windows-based. We're excited about the technology, about being wireless. We're excited about having flat-screen panels throughout our showroom. It's impressive to your customers. It makes you look smart."
Ren Baker, CDS president and CEO, said the system wasn't based on previous technology.
"Often times, in our industry, new products are created by updating existing solutions. However, there are inherent problems with building on old technology indefinitely," he said. "That's why we started with a clean sheet of paper."
