Shoemaker joins Kingsdown as West sales VP

Mebane, N.C. — Top 10 bedding producer Kingsdown has named bedding veteran Owen Shoemaker vice president of sales for its western U.S. division, a new position.
Shoemaker previously held a similar position with specialty bedding company Nature's Rest.
Kingsdown will bolster its West Coast growth plans with its first showing in Las Vegas. It will show in the conference area on the casino level of the Venetian during the Vegas market, Jan. 30–Feb. 3. It will host two evening events, Jan. 30 and 31.
"Kingsdown has a reputation of both enlightening and entertaining our market guests — our events in Las Vegas won't disappoint," said Eric Hinshaw, chairman and CEO.
Company officials said Shoemaker will help the producer grow its Western business.
"Owen's familiarity with the West Coast is ideal for our growth strategy, and we have had a good relationship since the early 1990s, when he was vice president of sales for Ortho Mattress, a former Kingsdown associate," said Kingsdown President Pat Flippin.
In addition to his tenure with Nature's Rest, Shoemaker spent a number of years with Latex International, North America's only producer of latex bedding. He lives in San Diego.
Kingsdown also announced that Dan Swiniarski, who has been assistant vice president of sales for the Southeastern division for two years, has been promoted to vice president of sales for the eastern United States.
John Cascaes will be vice president of sales, devoted exclusively to the Sleepy's account. Mike Inman will continue as regional vice president of sales and Lee Hinshaw will continue as vice president of sales, international accounts.
