New York — Fabric converter Covington Inds. has relocated its offices here to the 18th floor of 386 Park Avenue South, moving from its home of 11 years on East 26th Street.
"Our lease was up," said Roger Gilmartin, executive vice president and chief operating officer, "and the building is being turned into a mix of commercial and residential, with the top floors being condominiums."
The new office is "across one block and up one block" from the old office, he said.
Gilmartin is in the process of acquiring a majority stake in the company from the founding Gilmore family. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
