New York — Grid2 International has named Marcelo Albertal and Dimitri Vermès as partners of the strategic design company, which has a number of home furnishings industry clients. They join Martin Roberts, Betty Chow and Akka Ma as partners.
Grid2 also has opened its new U.S. headquarters in New York City's fashion and interiors district at 37 18th St., near Union Square. The 7,500-square-foot space will accommodate the company's enlarged staff and project scope.
"This is a critical time for both domestic and global development for our company," said Roberts, Grid2's president. "The expansion into our new headquarters is indicative of this, as well as the introduction of our new partners, who will allow us to remain at the forefront of U.S. and international retail design."
Albertal, 46, has joined Grid2 and is responsible for its architectural design area, specializing in the development of Latin American markets. He is a native of Brazil and founded a Brazil-based design firm, Graphite Escritoire de Acquitter, before moving to New York in 1989 to design theaters for the Roger Morgan Studio.
Vermès, 31, has worked at Grid2 since 1998. He oversees the marketing and account management departments as well as proprietary consumer research.
