El Segundo, Calif. — Rick Parker, who has held management posts at several office and institutional furniture producers, has been named president and CEO of Douglas Furniture.
Douglas, whose lineup includes upholstery and casual dining, said Parker will begin his new duties immediately and will be in the company's space at the upcoming Las Vegas market.
"I am thrilled to join a company such as Douglas Furniture. It will be an honor to take the helm of a solid furniture manufacturer with a one-hundred-year-old legacy," Parker said.
The company said Parker has more than 26 years experience in the furniture industry, including senior management posts at Sagus International, a holding company for several office and institutional furniture producers, and Hon Inds., a major office furniture producer.
He replaces Robert MacDonald, who left Douglas in September. MacDonald had been CEO since late 2003.
