Martinsville, Va. — Manufacturer and importer Hooker Furniture has named Phil Garrett, previously bedroom product manager, as a national sales manager.
He will share duties with Frank Richardson, also national sales manager, in an effort to better service retail customers and support Hooker's growing force of sales representatives, the company said.
"As our rep force has grown to about 100 and our company has grown, we see a need for additional management support so that we can touch our customers more, enhance our customer communications and spend time with customers developing the business," said Ray Harms, senior vice president of sales.
Garrett and Richardson, who had been the sole national sales manager, will be responsible for managing the sales force, administrative sales support, developing retail partnerships, and for supporting Hooker's SmartLiving ShowPlace retail gallery accounts.
Both report to Harms.
Kenneth Williams, vice president of merchandising, will assume Garrett's responsibilities for product development and merchandising in adult and youth bedroom. Williams retains his current responsibilities of developing whole home collections.
