Atlanta — Rental and rent-to-own retailer Aaron Rents has completed its yearlong 50th anniversary celebration and awarded prizes in its "Drive Away in Our '55 Chevy" sweepstakes.
Five first-prize winners received expenses-paid trips for two to the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas.
They were John Zorick Jr. of Valparaiso, Ind.; Catrina Hare of Memphis, Tenn.; Renee Melvin of Milton, Fla.; Steven Schopf of Burlington, Wis.; and Greg Pickerel of Arvada, Colo.
At the speedway, Zorick chose the key that started a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, valued at nearly $40,000, in front of the sold-out crowd in attendance for the NASCAR Nextel Cup race.
Fifty other monthly winners received replica racing helmets autographed by Aaron's No. 99 Dream Machine driver, Michael Waltrip.
"We are honored to celebrate such a remarkable milestone in our company's history and we are thrilled at the response to our 50th anniversary sweepstakes," said Mark Rudnick, Aaron's vice president of marketing. "We are proud to be among the best-of-the-best companies who continue to thrive and grow after half a century in business."
