Spring Air showing four new lines in Vegas
By David Perry -- Furniture Today, January 29, 2006
Las Vegas — Bedding major Spring Air is bringing out four bedding lines at the market here.
The producer is debuting its luxury ComfortFlex collection, an upgraded flagship Back Supporter collection, its Back Supporter Sleep Fitness line of visco-elastic beds, and its value-priced Posture Comfort collection.
The ComfortFlex collection, which debuted in 2002, is designed to provide better sleep for couples.
"The ComfortFlex mattress is a perfect example of where couples can sleep peacefully in unison in the same bed," said Spring Air President Jim Nation. "It is performing very well with women consumers because they are enjoying a better night's sleep with their partner. The state-of-the-art technology with the ProBalance individually encased coil innerspring in the design reduces motion disturbance."
The newest advancement in the ComfortFlex line is Comfort Progressions. It uses new foam and innerspring technologies to provide extra support for areas between a sleeper's shoulders and knees that need extra attention for a good night's sleep.
Retails for the ComfortFlex collection range from $699 to $1,799 in queen. A special anniversary edition model will retail for $599.
The flagship Back Supporter line, the biggest seller among Spring Air's collections, features several comfort zone enhancements: visco, latex, Conforma Touch foam and Contour Surface Technology, all designed to provide superior comfort and support where sleepers need it most, while reducing body pressure points, according to Spring Air.
Back Supporter also has a new common border and upgraded cover selection. Sets have coordinated borders on the mattress and box spring, cutting down on the number of SKUs a retailer must stock. A woven label with the Spring Air model tag on the front end and higher-profile foundations create what the company calls "a more upscale look."
"State-of-the-art coil technology and comfort zones of foam, visco and latex enhancements provide superior comfort and support," Nation said. "This is a huge benefit for consumers maintaining an active lifestyle while looking for back support."
The new Back Supporter line retails from $499 to $1,699.
Spring Air also is showing its Back Supporter Sleep Fitness line of three visco-elastic beds, which it says offer greatly reduced body pressure points when compared to competitors' models.
The visco foam is designed with seven pressure-relief zones and is engineered to return to its original shape and size. Contour Surface Technology allows air to flow through the top of the mattress to reduce heat for a more comfortable sleep experience.
The Sleep Fitness line continues to perform well in the marketplace, Nation said. "We are very impressed with the response to our Back Supporter Sleep Fitness collection," he said. "Our research indicated to us that consumers want a mattress that matches their lifestyle. The advanced technology available today provided us with the opportunity to create this collection."
The Posture Comfort line, retailing from $499 to $799, is backed by new point-of-purchase displays and collateral sales materials. It uses geometrically engineered coils forming a Power Coil innerspring to expand the usable sleep surface by 20%.
"Our research determined that the center third of a mattress, plus the outer perimeter, were areas that needed more attention," Nation said. "Posture Comfort is an ideal mattress for the value-oriented consumer. Many of these features can be found in higher-priced mattresses, but not at this level."
Spring Air is showing at Mandalay Bay, space 62270.
