Lexington, Ky. — Tempur-Pedic's Swedish Neck Pillow reduces snoring, according to a study conducted by the bedding company.
The pillow is made from Tempur pressure-relieving material, which is viscoelastic and conforms to the body to provide support.
The company said 48 snorers and their sleep partners took part in the study. While 98% of the participants reported snoring-related sleeping problems before the study, only 31% reported problems during the test period.
"We developed the study after hearing for years that our Swedish Neck Pillows aided in decreasing snoring," said Dany Sfeir, senior vice president of marketing for Tempur-Pedic. Preston-Osborne Marketing Communications and Research conducted the study.
Kathryn Hansen, director of Diagnostics and Sleep Centers for St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky., is a proponent of the pillow.
"I've found that the Tempur-Pedic Swedish Neck Pillow helps to alleviate pressure on the spine and open the airways — all factors in reducing snoring," she said.
