Therapedic adds Alliance Sleep
David Perry -- Furniture Today, January 29, 2006
Syracuse, N.Y. — Therapedic has added Alliance Sleep to its stable of U.S. bedding licensees. Alliance, owned by Tom Comer, is the new Therapedic licensee for New York state.
Alliance purchased Penfield Bedding, Therapedic's former New York licensee, from Chuck Gordon in December and was recently approved as a Therapedic licensee.
In addition to bedding veteran Comer, the Alliance team includes Laurie Tokarz, vice president of sales. Alliance is also a licensee of Restonic, with Restonic licenses in New York, North Carolina and Florida.
"We are extremely pleased to be joining the Therapedic group," Comer said. "It's a group with an exciting program and the brand has a bright future."
Alliance is particularly excited about Therapedic's new partnership with Kathy Ireland Home. The launch of Therapedic's Kathy Ireland mattress line is set for this week's Las Vegas Market, where Therapedic is showing in Mandalay Bay, space 61072.
"We think that with the Therapedic line, and the Kathy Ireland line, we can approach a new set of prospects in our territory," Tokarz said.
Therapedic President Gerry Borreggine, who has known Comer and Tokarz from previous work experience, said Alliance Sleep is "a strong addition" for Therapedic. Alliance is one of 16 domestic licensees for the bedding brand.
