DAK raising fiber prices
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 29, 2006
Charlotte, N.C. — Polyester fiber supplier DAK Americas has announced it will increase its polyester staple fiber prices by three cents a pound on Feb. 15. The hike will apply to all products sold to home furnishings, fiberfill and other markets.
Another increase of two cents per pound will take effect March 15.
DAK had raised its prices by four cents per pound on Jan. 1, after eliminating a surcharge that had been in effect since Hurricane Katrina last summer.
The price adjustments are based on increasing global costs of raw materials and energy.
