Monroe, Mich. — La-Z-Boy has named furniture industry veteran Bob Ireland to the newly created post of vice president of residential global merchandising for tables, lamps and accessories.
Ireland, who had been national sales manager for La-Z-Boy Canada since 2002, will oversee merchandising of tables, lamps and accessories within the network of proprietary La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores.
He reports to Greg White, vice president of merchandising and sales.
"Tables, lamps and accessories is a rapidly growing and changing aspect of our business," White said. "Bob has the merchandising and sourcing background, as well as the business expertise, to ensure that we are making the most of every opportunity in this segment."
Before joining La-Z-Boy, Ireland was executive vice president of Powell Co., a major importer with an extensive lineup of tables, lamps and accessories. Earlier, he held several positions with Palliser Furniture, including a stint as sales and marketing manager of the company's import division.
Ireland will continue to reside in Waterloo, Ontario, but also will maintain an office in Monroe.
