Kathwari elected NRF chairman

New York — M. Farooq Kathwari has been elected chairman of the National Retail Federation, the largest U.S. retail trade association.
Kathwari, chairman, president and CEO of Ethan Allen Interiors, had been first vice chairman of the NRF board.
During the NRF convention here last week, Tracy Mullin, the association's president and CEO, said 2005 brought "phenomenal growth" in membership. New furniture industry members include Ashley Furniture and Rooms To Go.
