San Jose, Calif. — Industry veteran Bill Carpenter has been named president of Lifestyle Solutions by Elite Furniture, a San Jose, Calif.-based importer and sofa-sleeper specialist that recently entered the wood bedroom category and is looking to offer more case goods.
Carpenter was vice president of key accounts at Collezione Europa, and previously worked at Boyd Furniture and Kincaid Furniture.
Lifestyle Solutions, which owns a factory in Malaysia, currently offers nine bedroom groups in looks aimed at Gen X and Gen Y consumers, with retails ranging from $999 to $1,500 for a bed, dresser/mirror and nightstand.
Carpenter, who helped develop full case goods lines at his previous posts, said he is expects to introduce dining, occasional and home entertainment furniture this year to complement the nine bedrooms.
Three to five of the collections should be ready for the April High Point market, with the rest in place by the fall, he said.
The 15-year-old company grew about 20% in 2005, said owner Sean Pathiratne.
