ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. -- Spring Air, which has shown in temporary space at the Las Vegas market, will move to a 7,250-square-foot permanent showroom in Building 2 of the World Market Center.
Grid2 International will design and build the new space, on the building’s 11th floor.“This is the market to be at if you are in the bedding business,” said Jim Nation, Spring Air president. The move by the industry’s fourth-largest producer means that when Building 2 opens next January, all of the bedding industry’s top manufacturers will be in permanent showroom space in Las Vegas. Sealy will also be in Building 2, while Simmons, Serta, Comfort Solutions and Tempur-Pedic already are in Building 1, which opened last summer. The Grid2 team has conceived an upscale hotel theme for the Spring Air showroom to enhance the mood for business. At the heart of the exhibition space is a large, richly decorated lounge with tables, comfortable seating, a bar, wireless technology and an oversized TV screen.“The primary purpose for hosting a market is to build relationships,” said Martin Roberts, president of Grid2. “With this showroom, Spring Air will have a beautiful, welcoming environment for taking care of their customers and wooing prospects, in addition to showing off their products.”Roberts will be discussing his ideas on effective bedding displays at Furniture/Today’s upcoming Bedding Conference, set for March 29-31 at the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nev.For information on the event, go to www.furnituretoday.com and click on the icon for conferences.
