Prime Designs appoints Marlin as marketing VP

Tupelo, Miss. — Industry veteran Jerry Marlin has joined upholstered furniture manufacturer Prime Designs as vice president of merchandising and marketing, a newly created position.
He reports to Tim Richey, president.
Marlin spent the past eight years as executive vice president of merchandising at upholstery producer PeopLoungers. Previously, he served as chief operating officer of retailer Farmers Furniture and as national sales manager of fabric supplier Culp.
"Jerry's vast experience in merchandising, sales, retail and fabric-to-frame application will help us to be a leader in our product categories," said Richey. "As part of Jerry's role, he will focus on creating and marketing our product line to provide a range of value to our customers."
Tim and Gary Richey founded Prime Designs, which manufactures promotional to midpriced upholstery, in 1992.
