Pearson promotes Heath to new post
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 19, 2006
High Point — Mike Heath has been promoted to director of marketing at Pearson Co., a new post for the high-end upholstery maker.
He joined Pearson in 1982 as financial manager, and in 1992 was promoted to sales manager in charge of the Midwest region.
In 2005, he assumed additional duties as assistant merchandising manager, working with Terry Allen, vice president of design and merchandising.
Allen plans to retire in January 2007, and Heath's appointment will provide leadership to the product design staff and assure continuity of marketing efforts, the company said.
"Mike possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in premium quality upholstery to go along with his thorough knowledge of the Pearson operation ... as we broaden distribution of the line," said President Sam Boyd.
Heath began his furniture career in cost accounting at The Lane Co. before transferring to sister company Pearson. Both are now Furniture Brands International companies.
