Loloi rug wins People's Choice Award in Atlanta

Atlanta — America's Magnificent Carpet Awards, the rug industry's version of the Academy Awards, were presented at a gala on the last night of The International Rug Market here last month.
A new power-loomed rug from Loloi Rugs won the People's Choice Award, and also won in the $200 to $400 retail price category.
A panel of three experts judged the entries. They were Atlanta designer Christie Dillard, Asian art expert Johan Eric Riis and Allan Arthur, an Oriental rug appraiser. The People's Choice award is voted on by retailers who visit the area where AmericasMart displayed all entries.
Awards were made in hand-made and power-loomed categories, in addition to visual merchandising awards for outstanding showroom display.
The winners were:
Power-loomed rugs: Marcella Fine Rugs, under $200 in a 6 by 9; Loloi Rugs, $200 to $400; Miresco, $400 to $1,000; and Nourison, over $1,000.
Hand-made rugs: Surya, up to $12 per square foot; Jaipur, $12 to $23; Safavieh, $23 to $35; Lawrence of La Brea, $35 to $46; Neman, $46 to $56; Togar, $56 to $65; and Mastour Galleries, over $65.
Special categories: antique, Looms of Persia; contemporary, Sphinx by Oriental Weavers; People's Choice Award: Loloi Rugs.
Visual merchandising awards: Mohawk Select, Miresco, Momeni, Marcella Fine Rugs and Amici.
