Monroe, Mich. — La-Z-Boy Residential has promoted Paula Hoyas to the newly created post of vice president of upholstery merchandising.
She has been director of upholstery merchandising for two years, supervising all La-Z-Boy upholstery introductions, including the successful Todd Oldham and high-end Inspired Living collections. Hoyas also has played an integral role in the growing leather category, the company said.
"Our merchandising team has expanded over the last two years and Paula has provided the strategic direction responsible for the development of many innovative, high-quality products," said Greg White, vice president of merchandising and sales.
She continues to report to White and now supervises a team of 10, including three product managers: Leslie Salenbien for outsourced product, Penny Eudy for upholstery and Bud Caywood, designer and leather product manager.
Hoyas joined La-Z-Boy in 2001 as a product manager and was promoted to director of upholstery merchandising in 2003. Earlier, she worked for retailer HomeLife.
