Mission design elements inspire FBG beds

Chicago — Fashion Bed Group is offering five beds in a new Mission-inspired Arts & Crafts collection that includes wood and metal models along with the company's signature metal pieces.
The beds, which retail between $299 and $599, include two all-metal versions and three metal and wood versions.
Based on the positive reaction they received at the January Las Vegas market, the company expects to move forward with all five beds, said Stephen Sczubelek, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Leggett & Platt's Consumer Products Unit, of which Fashion Bed Group is a part.
"We are receiving a lot of requests from customers for wood and metal products and a departure from traditional metal beds," he said.
The wood and metal models are the Jasper, in an aged bronze and cherry finish; the Sierra, in an antique brass and oak finish; and the Fresno, in a pewter and ebony finish.
The all-metal beds are the Maurice, in a rustic bronze finish; and the Glasgow, in an aged slate finish.
Some beds have slight curves along the headboard or footboard, but they mostly stay true to their Mission heritage with mainly straight lines.
This is not the first time Fashion Bed Group has ventured beyond all-metal models. Chancellor and Dunhill are existing wood and metal beds, and Saigon mixes wood, metal and rattan. The company also has leather-upholstered beds.
In Las Vegas, the company also introduced two metal beds in its Fashion Five series, which allows five different finishes on some of its top-selling frames. These models also have matching nightstands, benches and mirrors, all available in the same finishes.
