Shanghai Fangjia gets 0% duty rate

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Commerce has assigned a preliminary antidumping duty rate of 0% to Chinese wood bedroom producer Shanghai Fangjia Industry Co.
After a new shipper review, the DOC said that based on its initial findings, the company has not made sales of wood bedroom furniture at less than normal value during the review period of Jan. 1 through June 30, 2008.
The DOC will make a final determination of the new shipper rate within 90 days of the June 30 release of the preliminary results.
The antidumping duties date back to a 2003 investigation that determined U.S. furniture producers were injured by unfairly priced Chinese wood bedroom products sold below normal market values.
Resulting duties assigned to Chinese bedroom producers are paid by the companies that import those products to the United States.
