Sealy
TRINITY, N.C. — Sealy has promoted its general counsel, Mike Murray, from vice president to senior vice president. He also is secretary of the company and reports to Larry Rogers, president and CEO.
“Mike brings a unique skill set to his new role that goes beyond his legal expertise,” said Rogers. “Mike offers a decade of experience in the bedding industry and has a keen understanding of Sealy's business and operations.”
Before joining the bedding manufacturer in 1999, Murray was a senior attorney for Aeroquip-Vickers, now a division of Eaton.
Frank Sinatra Enterprises
LOS ANGELES — Sara Nemerov has been hired as senior vice president of consumer products and brand licensing at Frank Sinatra Enterprises and Rhino Entertainment. She will identify and secure new licensing opportunities for Sinatra's name and likeness and for other Rhino artists.
Nemerov most recently was vice president of global licensing for The Trump Organization. Earlier she was with The Joester Loria Group, The Beanstalk Group and the Jones Apparel Group.
DMI Office
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — DMI Office, a division of DMI Furniture and Flexsteel Inds., has promoted Bob Burke to vice president of sales.
Burke will lead the sales efforts for the DMI Office division sales team and will help develop sales strategies for various distribution channels.
He joined DMI in 2007 as the Western division vice president of sales. He has spent more than 25 years in executive sales and marketing positions with office furniture companies.

ST. LOUIS — Dan Ashurst is the new store manager of Weekends Only Furniture's St. Peters, Mo. location.
Ashurst has more than 11 years of retail management experience, most recently as a store director for Circuit City.

Valspar
MINNEAPOLIS — Valspar's board of directors has elected Gary E. Hendrickson, the finish supplier's president and chief operating officer since February 2008, to the board.
The board now includes 10 independent directors and two Valspar executive officers, Hendrickson and William L. Mansfield, chairman and CEO.

Safavieh
PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — Rug source Safavieh has named industry veteran Michael Wolf Midwest regional sales manager.
His territory includes Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He will report to Arash Yaraghi, company principal.
Before joining the company he was sales manager for Lotfy & Sons in Secaucus, N.J., for 13 years and earlier was with Amiran Rugs. Prior to that, he was with Fortunoff in Westbury, N.Y., responsible for buying and merchandising of rugs.
Charleston Forge
BOONE, N.C. — Charleston Forge, a producer of upper-end indoor casual furniture, has appointed two sales representatives.
Bob Zierk will be based in Park City, Utah, and will be responsible for sales in the mountain states. Zierk began his furniture career as a sales rep and management associate for Bernhardt Furniture. He and his family owned and operated Zierk's Home Furnishings, a five-store retailer in the Chicago area, for more than 25 years before selling the company.
John Gallman will represent Charleston Forge in North Carolina and South Carolina. Gallman, who also represents Miles Talbott, Michael Thomas and Keystone Collections, was formerly vice president of sales and marketing for Woodmark Originals.
IIDA
CHICAGO — The International Interior Design Assn. has hired Carmen O'Donnell as communications manager, with responsibility for day-to-day operations and strategic publications.
Previously, she worked with textbook publisher Pearson Education as well as for Imagination Publishing and Schawk Creative Agency.

Stir Creative Group
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Stir Creative Group has named Charlie Cort assistant art director.
Cort reports to co-owners Timothy Cox and Eric Peterson. He will be responsible for graphic design and production work related to Web sites, e-projects and print projects.
