Penney debuts N.Y. temporary store
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 12, 2006
New York — The JCPenney Experience opened here this month at the crossroads of Times Square with a three-level, temporary store that embraces technology as a key to its marketing strategy.
The third floor is dedicated to home furnishings, featuring the new Studio by JCPenney Home Collection and designer Chris Madden's Haven collection for JCPenney Home. Customers are invited to make purchases using computer stations set up in the store, via the company's online programs.
The store will be open for just three weeks. Penney is featuring each of its designers in customer events during the period. Chris Madden appeared on the first weekend hosting a seminar, "Decorate for Your Lifestyle."
