Mike Genrich joins importer Furniture of America

Named senior VP of sales and marketing

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — Case goods importer Furniture of America Inc. has named Michael Genrich as senior vice president of sales and marketing, a new position.

The company has U.S. regional divisions including Import Direct Furniture in the West, Grand Import Corp. in the Southeast and Linner Inc. on the East Coast.

The company offers a line of midpriced to promotional bedroom, dining room and youth bedroom furniture, and futons.

Genrich, a 25-year industry veteran, most recently was vice president of sales at AICO. Before that, he held executive sales positions at Sandberg, APW Trade, Blackhawk, Coaster and Krause's Sofa Factory. He also has served as president of the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn.

Genrich started at Furniture of America Sept. 1 and reports to George Wang, a company principal.

"In addition to developing a national sales team for Furniture of America, Michael will lead our sales and marketing efforts as we position Furniture of America to meet and exceed our aggressive growth goals," Wang said in a statement. "We have been searching for someone with Michael's background for some time."

Genrich will help the company build a national sales force and establish selling and sourcing relationships with Top 100 and other major accounts.

"The more I learned about the company, their employee-owned business model and their team management philosophy, the more interested I became in Furniture of America," Genrich said.

At the Las Vegas Market, the company shows in World Market Center C-1268.
