Intercon creates new wood furniture division

Dave Pinamonti will lead unit focused on branded, licensed goods

SALT LAKE CITY — Solid wood specialist Intercon has created a solid wood division focused on branded and licensed products

The new division called Heritage Brands will have separate sales, marketing and product development focused on brand and licensing opportunities, according to a press release.

It will offer solid wood bedroom and dining room collections, casual dining and entertainment, and case pieces at medium to lower-medium price points.

Dave Pinamonti has been named general manger of the Heritage Brands division. He most recently was vice president of marketing and sales for Universal Furniture and earlier held sales and marketing posts at Broyhill, Stanley and A-America.

He will also be responsible for some key accounts at Intercon and will work with Sam Turpin, Intercon's vice president of marketing and sales. Pinamonti reports to Tom Turpin, CEO.

Intercon says it plans to have product ready for a big rollout in February and may have some product and programs ready to preview by the October High Point Market, Pinamonti said.

"With Dave having a great background in all areas of the business, particularly with solid wood, we feel we can create great products and programs for the retailer," Turpin said in a press release.

At next week's Las Vegas Market, Intercon will introduce three casual dining sets and a kitchen island. It shows in the World Market Center, A-510.
