La-Z-Boy promotes two execs

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 19, 2006

La-Z-Boy has promoted veteran marketing executives Jennifer Sievertsen and Mark Wagner to new positions.

Sievertsen is now vice president of brand marketing and Wagner is vice president of store development and marketing.

"They have been successful in moving the La-Z-Boy brand forward by developing and implementing innovative programs while working to develop the industry's top retail system," said Steve Matlock, senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Sievertsen will oversee all brand and retail marketing functions and develop long-term brand marketing strategies. This includes national advertising, public relations, licensing, consumer research and the company's Internet site.

She joined La-Z-Boy in 2002 as director of brand marketing. Earlier, she was senior product manager for Calphalon Corp., a division of Newell Rubbermaid. She also spent seven years with Motorola in a variety of marketing posts.

Wagner will oversee the development and execution of the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries model. This includes display planning, retail training, marketing and the operational excellence system for the proprietary store program.

He joined the company in 1996 as retail advertising manager. He became Furniture Galleries advertising manager in 1999 and was promoted to director of retail marketing two years later.

Since 2004, he has been director of Furniture Galleries excellence and marketing.

Sievertsen and Wagner continue to report to Matlock.
