Diamond opens Delaware store

Bear, Del. — Diamond Furniture & Mattress has opened a 35,000-square-foot store on Buckley Boulevard here, its seventh location and first unit in Delaware.

The company was founded in 1927 and currently has three stores in Pennsylvania, in metro Philadelphia, and three in New Jersey. Gary Diamond is the third-generation owner.

For the grand opening in Bear, former Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame goalie Bernie Parent was on hand to greet shoppers and sign autographs. Delaware Lt. Gov. John Carney Jr. helped cut the ribbon.

Diamond advertises discount pricing on brand-name furniture and offers next-day delivery seven days a week.
