Z Gallerie opens 1st N.Y. store

New York — Top 100 lifestyle chain Z Gallerie opened its first store here last week in the trendy Soho section of Manhattan at 443 Broadway.
The store is about 12,000 square feet on two levels, said Carole Malfetti, one of three principals in the California-based retailer. Z Gallerie stores average about 8,500 square feet.
Z Gallerie began in 1979 as a poster shop and morphed into a home furnishings retailer with 68 stores in 24 states. It sells furniture, home textiles, accessories, lighting, tabletop and artwork.
