Ashley adds Alabama unit

Birmingham, Ala. — A dedicated Ashley Furniture HomeStore has opened on Galleria Boulevard here.

The 50,000-square-foot store features an 85-foot tower, interior bronze fountains and works by local artisans that reflect Birmingham's steel history.

The store also has a 70-person capacity Community Room with a state-of-the-art sound system and audio-visual equipment, a kids play area and a full-service café.

Allen Woods Marks of Marks Fitzgerald Furniture owns the store. His family has been in the furniture business for over 50 years.
