Nominations for WithIt's WOW Awards due May 15

High Point — WithIt, or Women in the Home Industries Today, is seeking nominations for its annual WOW Awards, to be presented at the organization's annual educational conference in August.

Retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and others are invited to nominate deserving individuals and businesses in the home furnishings industry. Nominations are due May 15 for these awards:

Legacy Award, for a woman who has made significant lifetime contributions to the industry.
Mentoring Award, for an executive or organization that has fostered advocacy, development or promotion of women in a company.
Education Award, for an executive or company that has developed programs to educate associates, retailers or consumers about home furnishings.
Future Leadership Award, for a woman under 40 who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and the potential to become an industry leader.

WithIt asks those making nominations to outline, in 50 words or less, why a person or organization should be considered. Nominees must currently work in home furnishings and must have at least five years of industry experience. Each candidate must have demonstrated an ability to affect his or her company and/or the industry in tangible ways.

Nominees are not required to be members of WithIt and may not be members of the WithIt board of directors or board of governors. Finalists will receive an application to complete prior to selection of award winners by a panel of industry peers.

The educational conference will be held in Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 29–31. Award recipients will be honored on the evening of Aug. 30.
