Warm Front

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 2, 2006

Classic and traditional patterns — the eternal favorites among upholstery fabrics — are showing up this season in cool palettes of green and blue, as well as warm shades. This page showcases a number of frames, paisley, damask and trailing vine patterns in an appealing and current warm palette ranging from pale, cosmetic-inspired peach to rich terra cottas, reds and golds.

A. TIETEX INTERIORS AT COCHRANE

Exotic patterns Kaiser, Morocco and Moravia are married in a package called A Touch of Spice that is showcased on a multi-pillow back traditional silhouette.

B. AMERICAN CENTURY HOME FABRICS AT BEST HOME FURNISHINGS

Soft and dimensional, Sonya's overall vine pattern of viscose and polyester meanders over new upholstery bowing at the coming market.

C. CIRCA 1801/DOBLIN AT KING HICKORY

The powder-pale palette of Aggie's classic floral pattern, in silky mercerized cotton, rayon and polyester, is a foil for chocolate brown on a collage sofa featuring a multi-pillow back silhouette.

D. GOLDING AT TEMPLE

A French country settee with a curved back and exposed carved legs is dressed in Maison, a rich design of rayon and polyester in a warm persimmon colorway.

E. WEARBEST SIL-TEX MILLS AT BURTON JAMES

Liesl, a pure silk article of chocolate brown touched with threads of copper, gold and platinum, will attract aspirational shoppers as a cover for an opulent, curvaceous transitional sofa.

F. WEAVE CORP. AT MASSOUD

Ambrosia, a lush upscale washed chenille, covers an oversized chair-and-a-half with a deep-seated traditional frame.

G. LEATHER ITALIA

Venus, a 100% full top-grain leather in chili pepper red brings a very hot and modern color to a lifestyle frame with bun feet.

H. NICOLETTI

Kayman, a natural grain leather with a slightly buffed surface, is available in three colors and will be showcased on transitional and traditional sofa silhouettes at the spring market.

I. HOME FABRICS AT NORWALK

Richly textured Muzika, a blend of polyester, rayon, cotton and nylon, warms up new upholstery debuting at the spring market.

J. QUAKER FABRIC AT LA-Z-BOY

A transitional sofa is the frame selected for Bambino's rich color and soft hand of polyester and olefin.
