• Gabriel is a transitional metal bed with an X-shaped design in both the headboard and footboard. Suggested retail is $299.

Expanding into the daybed category with four models: West End, traditional styling in cane cherry, $1,199; Huntington, neoclassical styling in medium cherry, $1,199; Regent, traditional lattice in a black cherry finish, $1,399; and Raffles, West Indies styling in bamboo, $1,399.

Marketing strategy: Targeting baby boomers who are downsizing or adding a retirement retreat and looking for better space utilization.

• To commemorate a key anniversary, the bedding producer is unveiling the Bemco 50th Anniversary Posture Pillow-Top. The non-turn model features 441 Bonnell coils with super-soft foam in the pillow and a combination of super-soft and hyper-soft foam quilted to a circular knit fabric. The suggested retail is in the $799 to $899 range.

• The producer also is continuing its emphasis on its anchor collection, the Posture series, which has suggested retails ranging from $699 to $1,599.

Marketing programs: Promotions highlighting its 50th anniversary will include a fall New England cruise dealer vacation, vacations to Bemco's Myrtle Beach, S.C., condo, and Bemco's 42nd annual golf tournament at the Country Club of Whispering Pines, N.C.

Tension Ease Essentials Plus PT is a Euro pillowtop offering super plush comfort levels with advanced memory foam and 100% natural Laytex. The bed has a coil-on-coil Duoflex design with 1,315 coils. It retails at $1,599.

Marketing programs: The producer is launching an in-store promotion for test-resting Englander's premium sleep products. Consumers register to win prizes up to a $2,000 bed.

IHFC C-700

• Glasgow is an Arts and Crafts-inspired metal bed with square posts that are slightly rotated. It is available in an aged slate finish and has a suggested retail of $499.

• Maurice is another Arts and Crafts-inspired metal bed with a clean, simple geometric pattern highlighted by horizontal and vertical lines. It also has faux rivets as a design feature and is available in a rustic bronze finish.

Gold Bond

Foam mattress producer has teamed with Adonis Furniture to bring fast, reliable and more cost-effective delivery of mattresses, futons and bedroom furniture directly to retailers' warehouses. The companies show together at market and are working together to grow their businesses. Retailers can mix loads to simplify their ordering while getting better service on their key products, the companies said.

Kincaid

• The Southport collection includes a metal bed. Available in a buttermilk finish, it has a curved headboard and simple castings and posts. Suggested retail is $499.

• The all-metal Cutlass daybed is a transitional style model in a German silver finish. Suggested retail is $399.

• Fenwick is a traditional-style daybed in a black-and-white finish that retails for $199. A metal bed version retails for $249.

• Heirloom is a traditional-style metal bed in a bronze finish. It has a suggested retail of $249.

Magniflex

Italian producer of foam-core mattresses is entering the U.S. market with its line of vacuum-packed mattresses. The product line includes 11 different models, including some in memory foam, retailing from $300 to about $1,600 for a queen-sized mattress. The vacuum-packing system reduces the mattress to 10% of its original size. Then the mattress is rolled and sealed with a special film. That packing keeps the mattress clean, and, once opened, the mattress returns to its original size in a few minutes, the company says.

• Powell is adding a daybed to its Jamestown Landing collection. The frame features inlaid cherry veneers and an elegant scrollwork pattern. Suggested retail is $599 to $649.

• Wicklow is a traditional-style metal bed with a gently curving head and footboard with ball finials. Other features include tapered posts, connected ringlet and ball castings and scrolls that end in leaf patterns. It is available in a patina gray and aged bronze finish with copper highlights. Suggested retail is $249.

• Sullivan is a transitional-style metal bed that is made from heavy-gauge square tubing. Features include egg-shaped finials and a panel that has a layered chiffon design flanked by large scrolls on the sides. This SKU-saver model is available in an bronze and aged copper finish with black patina highlights. Suggested retail is $229 for a full bed and $279 for a queen.

Progressive

Progressive is introducing the Sunglow chrome bed, a contemporary-style metal bed in a brushed nickel finish. It has a slightly curved head and footboard with a window-paned shaped grill. Suggested retail is $370.

Seahawk Designs

This bedroom case goods source is introducing a patented product called the Sto-A-Way. The product is a universal mattress foundation with four deep drawers built into it. It is available for immediate shipment from the West Coast and Midwest or container direct.

Strobel

IHFC M-640

The Strobel Supple-Pedic 4000 features a faux mink removable and washable cover and a memory foam and latex combination, with the company's Lever Support System or Air-Lever System. The mattress can be used with an adjustable base. It retails at $1,999.

Marketing programs: The producer also is inviting designers to learn more about its line, which can be specified by designers and shipped direct to the consumer.
