The B. Smith Home Collection will include 34 pieces of bedroom, dining room and occasional. The contemporary-influenced collection has ethnic influences officials the company described as "Afrasian." The pieces were inspired by Smith's travels around the world.
"My new collection for Hammary incorporates global accents that will appeal to a broad range of customers who embrace the unique combination of bold, dramatic lines enhanced by natural and subtle elements," Smith said in a statement. "This interaction reflects the synthesis that occurs when the best of each culture comes together to create something beautiful, and embodies what the ‘Afrasian' world view and this collection are all about."
Smith had a previous licensing relationship primarily in upholstery with Clayton Marcus and recently announced a licensing partnership with Miles Talbott, also in upholstery. The Hammary line will be her first major case goods collection.
Signature pieces include a platform bed and coordinating dresser with carved accents in a dark mahogany finish.
"The bed is a statement piece that is a fusion of Asian, African and Caribbean influences," Smith added. "It epitomizes my vision of blending design with a world view."
"We are excited to welcome B. Smith to Hammary," company President, John Labarowski said in a statement. "B. Smith knows style whether it's on the runway, in a restaurant or in the comfort of your home. When it comes to casual yet elegant living, her sophisticated approach has been an inspiration to many for years."
Hammary will have samples of the line at the High Point premarket on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14-15, and will launch the collection at the October High Point Market, which opens Oct. 17. The company shows in the International Home Furnishings Center, C-354.
